Why should I choose Houston Medical ER?

Houston Medical ER has 2 convenient locations, Spring and Northwest Houston. We have been providing high quality ER care to these communities for many years. Since our ER’s provide the same level of care as a hospital-based ER, our charges are the same, if not a little less. The good news is that we bill most commercial insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare, Medicare, Tricare, and self pay. We are out of network with many insurances, however, We Honor ALL in-network benefits and deductibles. Texas State Law requires your insurance company to pay for your emergency care at the in-network benefit level even if the emergency room is classified as out of network. At the end of the day, it comes down to the level of care provided at Houston Medical ER; high qualify ER care at a reasonable price, shorter wait times, 24/7/365 availability with licensed ER trained physicians and nurses, and conveniently located. Why go anywhere else for your medical care?

What is a Freestanding Emergency Room?

A freestanding emergency room comes with all the benefits of a hospital based emergency room, and more! Freestanding emergency rooms provide the best in quality care with minimal wait time. They are opened 24/7/365 and treat the same kind of emergency conditions as a hospital based emergency room. Freestanding emergency rooms are usually located close to neighborhoods for convenience and easy accessibility. Freestanding emergency rooms typically have a much shorter wait time and most of the times, the FSED charge lower fees than Hospital Based ER.

What is the difference between an Urgent Care and an ER?

Recognizing the difference between an Urgent Care and an ER is important. At a glance, an ER can see patients 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, we don’t ever close! We typically diagnose medical conditions that may require imaging, labs, EKG, and IV fluids. We stabilize a range of conditions ranging from minor to life threatening. We provide in house stat CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasound images. We provide immediate lifesaving care, offer around the clock care from licensed ICU and ER trained physicians. We can also provide patients with several days of medications so they don’t have to go to the pharmacy on the way home. We offer IV fluids, IV antibiotics, IV pain medications, oxygen, nebulizer treatments and even observation rooms for those who don’t need full hospital inpatient admission.
